DESCRIPTION
If you’re passionate about the mountains and want to venture into more technical and exposed terrain, this course is for you. Ridges are rocky routes that combine climbing, exposed sections, rappelling, and scrambling. They are often the access routes to summits that cannot be reached on foot. This course is designed to teach you everything you need to be self-sufficient in ridge progression, including safety maneuvers, belaying techniques, and risk management for this type of terrain.
The two-day course takes place in areas of Berguedà, Pallars Sobirà, or the Pyrenees of Huesca, ideal locations for progressive learning thanks to their variety of ridges and terrain types.
PROGRAM
DAY 1: Practical workshops in a safe environment, where we will work on:
Use of necessary equipment (rope, slings, belay devices).
Techniques for roped progression: moving together, short pitches, and dynamic belaying.
Managing exposed sections and setting up intermediate safety anchors.
Setting up hanging belays.
Self-secured rappelling and descent techniques.
DAY 2: Completion of a full ridge
We will put into practice everything learned during the course. We will work on planning and managing the entire route from start to finish, including ridge progression, rappelling, and handling unexpected situations.
Ideal for people who already have a mountain foundation and want to explore more technical terrain with autonomy and safety.
