DESCRIPTION
The Pyrenees of Huesca, for me, are like family; we are lucky to have them close to home. They are wild, special, majestic, idyllic, and above all, we have a great variety of rocks and walls that never end. Every corner has something special.
Climbing in Huesca is divided into two main parts: on one hand, low mountain climbing, like in Riglos, with its characteristic conglomerate spires; and on the other hand, high mountain climbing, in places such as Roca Foratata, Anayet, Cerler, Baños de Panticosa, and Pico Russel.
In these places, climbing is demanding because, besides the climb itself, you have to do a long approach of between 3 and 4 hours, which requires considerable effort to reach the wall. It is also important to take weather conditions into account, as in high mountain areas they can change quickly and unexpectedly. Thus, we can say that the activity is demanding both physically and mentally, as well as psychologically, which means the day can last one or even two days.
Climbing, despite its difficulty, is usually very rewarding, with a great variety of routes offering a complete experience. The best time for this activity is late spring and during summer, although in Riglos climbing can be done all year round.
