DESCRIPTION
The Núria Valley offers climbing in a unique alpine environment. Located in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees, it is a natural paradise surrounded by peaks reaching nearly 3,000 meters. With springs, rivers, vegetation, and wildlife, this place is mainly known for the Núria rack railway, which transports visitors for skiing or hiking in an authentic alpine setting.
But you might wonder, where do you climb in this iconic valley? The answer is the Dent d’en Rossell, an impressive wall nearly 300 meters high situated at 2,000 meters altitude. The climbing is technical and rewarding in an alpine setting, featuring slabs, cracks, and overhangs on firm, grippy granite.
Access is simple and charming; we follow the Old Núria Path, and in about 30 minutes, we reach the base of the route. The routes on this wall are demanding in a beautiful natural environment. At Dent d’en Rossell, there is a wide variety of routes ranging from intermediate to advanced levels.
It is important to note that climbing is only possible during spring and summer, as the location of the wall and climatic conditions make it impractical in autumn and winter.
Experience climbing in a unique environment in Catalonia and discover the magic of the Núria Valley!
